Octavian, the leading fine wine services business, announced on 1st October 2012 that it has retained Armit Wines on a long term agreement, to provide storage and distribution services.

Over the coming months Armit Wines will be moving all of its stocks into Octavian’s Colerne Reserve, at Colerne in Wiltshire. The new state-of-the-art facility has been constructed to match the ideal conditions of Octavian’s original reserve at Corsham Cellars.

The Colerne Reserve incorporates state-of-the-art technology to control temperature and humidity and eliminate UV light within the heavily insulated facility, and embodies all the elements of Octavian’s benchmark storage standard to ensure fine wine is matured in the best possible conditions, maximising its potential when it is ready to drink. Over many years Octavian has refined and engineered its excellent storage facilities at Corsham, and this expertise has been further extended in the new facilities at Colerne to include modern barcoding and tracking technology, as well as the latest security systems and expertise.

Octavian’s uncompromising commitment to perfect storage conditions and exceptional service have seen the Octavian Standard become the hallmark for perfect wine storage resulting in the company becoming the world’s leading specialist with nearly one million cases of fine wine secure in the finest storage conditions.

Commenting on today’s announcement, Nigel Jagger, Chairman of Octavian, said: “The Colerne Reserve embodies Octavian’s longstanding commitment to the exact storage conditions proven to maximise the potential quality and value of fine wine. As one of Octavian’s longstanding customers it is significant that John Armit Wines are joining us in this exciting and important foundation stone, to ensure Octavian and John Armit Wines remain the world’s best providers of fine wine reserves.”
