Miss Lister’s primary role will be the origination, research and development of new business strategies and services for Octavian. Based between London and Corsham, she will draw on her business development background and wine industry knowledge in forging a long term strategy that will continue to strengthen and broaden the company. She will work alongside the existing team in maintaining and growing the impeccable personal service offered to Octavian’s clients.

Miss Lister brings considerable fine wine expertise to the company, with a distinction in the Wines & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) advanced qualification, and regular contributions as a wine journalist to publications such as the Financial Times and The World of Fine Wine, for whom she has been Auctions & Secondary Markets Correspondent since 2009. In addition, since gaining valuable financial experience at investment bank Lazard, she has honed these skills in various business development capacities in entrepreneurial and private equity settings, as well as spending six months living in Hong Kong.

Octavian’s Chairman, Nigel Jagger, said, “I’m delighted that Ella Lister has decided to join Octavian. We are now approaching 25 years’ striving to be the world leaders in fine wine cellarage, a position that we are determined to maintain. Ella will give the business further skills and resources to develop enhanced services and strategy for the long term, making certain that we are prepared and equipped to take advantage of the changes and growth taking place in the fine wine market.”
